Investment Markets: Quick Lookback at 2017
We’re already plugging away through 1st quarter 2018! Man, time flies!
Last year was a good year! The highlight for me was a round-the-country road trip with my two amazing kiddos! …Something no investment could ever buy.
Anyways, the markets proved to do well in 2017. Here’s a quick recap:
- The S&P 500 Index up nearly 22% for 2017
- Bonds received more attention with $279B going their way in 2017
- This rather large influx of bond investing suggests some future concerns with stocks*
- International stock funds did well, closing the year up nearly 27%
As the late Jim Rohn once said, “Life is like the changing seasons…”
Such is true in the world of investments as well. 2017 proved to be a rather nice summer harvest.
Change is inevitable.
No pessimism here. It’s just that we will see a decline in the market at some point.
That, my friends, is the primary reason I exist (when it comes to serving you and your investment management needs).
I offer objectivity – not a crystal ball.
If you’re already a client of mine, you know about the Investment Policy Statement, including all the planning, discussion and analysis we go through leading up to that document and implementation. This all comes before I make any investment recommendations!
I hope your 2018 is off to a fantastic start! Please let me know if there’s anything I can assist you with.
